From sporting events to museums and entertainment, there are sure to be attractions to please everyone living in or visiting Seattle. Plan your time wisely because there are not enough hours in the day to see them all. Here is a taste of the attractions that Seattle has to offer.

Museum goers can walk the famous Seattle Art Museum where they will find the main museum as well as the Seattle Asian Museum, and the Olympic Sculpture Park on the waterfront which offers free admission. Located near the Space Needle, you won’t want to miss the Science Fiction Museum founded by the co-founder of Microsoft, Paul Allen. If you are into the history and nostalgia of Seattle, plan a visit to the Museum of History and Industry located on 24th Avenue East. If you are visiting with young family members, make sure to bring them to the hands-on Children’s Museum on Harrison Street for a fun and imaginative experience.

The 5th Avenue Theater is a landmark theater and a regular venue for nationally touring Broadway shows. Home of the Seattle Symphony, Benaroya Hall is a 2500 seat performance venue on University Street. With exquisite architecture, the Paramount Theater is home to musicals, dance, comedy, and concerts. If you are looking for a more “cultured” evening out, get tickets to a show at the Seattle Repertory Theatre in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle.

Music lovers can take in a concert at one of the many entertainment venues in Seattle. The Showbox is small enough for everyone can get an up close look at their favorite artists. This venue is a draw for some big names in the music industry. For those looking for a club atmosphere, they may want to stop by Neumos which is smaller and features a great bar. Key Arena is the main entertainment venue in Seattle and hosts the biggest bands that come to tour Seattle.

Sports fans will be able to see a game every night they are in Seattle at one of the many sports stadiums including Safeco Field, Emerald Downs, King County Aquatic Center, Qwest Field, Castle Ice Arena, Husky Stadium, Key Arena at Seattle Center, Comcast Arena, and many others.

You will need more than one day to visit all of the historic sights of Seattle. The Space Needle offers an observation deck with spectacular views of the city. Pioneer Square is an historic walking area with a charming old-world feel. Visit the grave of Bruce Lee at the Lake View Cemetery. If you are looking for a tour, go to Tillicum Indian Village located about eight miles from Seattle’s waterfront.

Continue walking on the waterfront to see the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks that were built in 1911 and currently operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. If you want to shop where the locals go, check out Pike Place Market on Pike Street. It features 600 businesses and merchants and is a great place to shop and eat.
